Welcome to kura-kura!

Kura-kura means turtle in Indonesian.
We love the way they move: slowly, steadily, and purposefully -
just like preparing a good cup of coffee.

So take your time and brew something extraordinary with our coffee.

Together with small, independent farmers in Indonesia, we want to tell the story of Indonesian coffee.

It is closely linked to the history of Indonesia - shaped by a colonial past, natural disasters, and economic challenges. And yet, the archipelago and its people remain remarkably positive, warm, and open.

The 17,508 islands are separated by oceans and cultural diversity, but united by a common national identity since independence in 1945.

Indonesia is one of the oldest coffee-growing regions outside Arabia. Coffee arrived in Java at the end of the 17th century and quickly became one of the region's most important export products. For many decades, "Java coffee" dominated the European market – before the global focus shifted to South America.

But Indonesia's terroir remains unmistakable to this day: volcanic soils, high altitudes, microclimates, and a variety of processing traditions. The potential is enormous - it just needs to be rediscovered and retold.

That is our mission.
